All day, every day, with one and the same bike. With all aero road bike developments of the past 20 years, the drivetrain was never really tackled. So we did. The BB area - with frame, crank, chainrings, front derailleur, water bottles and rider legs - leaves little room for the air to pass through. A single ring drivetrain eliminates the front derailleur and inner ring. Thus it reduces frontal area and creates space for unobstructed air flow. And with modern cassettes (in particular the 3T Overdrive and Bailout), you still have all the gears you need. The Strada Pro Force complete bike takes full advantage of the Strada features. SRAM is the world leader in 1x drivetrains and the Force 1x groupset is flawless. Additional features include the power meter-ready crankset and Discus C35 PRO aero train/race wheels with Pirelli tires (we spec the “25mm” labeled tires because they fit much wider on the Discus C35 PRO rim so the combination creates a perfect 28.3mm effective width).

There is something magical and fun about riding on a mixture of surfaces, and only the EXPLORO delivers on all terrains. Its road geometry is fast on good surfaces and capable on bad ones. Its clearance for up to 2.1” mountain bike tires means nothing will stop you. And the aerodynamics are so good that even with knobby tires, it outperforms round-tube road bikes with skinny tires. There’s simply nothing else like it. The Exploro is designed to fit road, cross and even mountain bike tires following the GravelPlus standard. The road and cross tires are 700c, the mountain bike tires use the 650b size, ensuring that all of these have virtually the same overall wheel diameter and therefore the same predictable handling. Why is aerodynamics important on allroad (asphalt, gravel, fire roads, single track) rides? - You may go slow off-road, but on the connecting asphalt sections, you need road riding speed. - If you’re slow because of gradients, aero doesn’t matter much. But if it's due to head- or crosswinds, you're slow relative to the ground but very fast relative to the air, and that’s what determines the resistance you experience (that’s exactly why you’re slow). We didn’t want the Exploro to be fast in theory, but fast in the real world. So we tested at a realistic 20mph (32kmh) instead of the standard 30mph (48kmh) and optimized the frame for water bottles (tough to do long, epic rides without). We even designed the Sqaero shape to work well when covered in mud! The result? A muddy Exploro with 40mm knobby gravel tires and 2 water bottles is faster than the equivalent clean round tube bike is with 28mm slick road tires and without bottles. The key to the Exploro’s speed is the aero downtube that is wide enough to catch the airflow coming off the big front tire (a skinny downtube wouldn’t even touch the airflow). But at 50mm wide, a full airfoil with a normal ratio would have to be 150-200mm deep, causing too much surface drag. So we square off the tail, keeping most of the aero performance with a 50x75mm cross section that is also close to perfect for strength and stiffness; our Sqaero shape. The wide downtube also effectively shields the water bottles. We also use Sqaero on the headtube, seattube, seatstays and seatpost.

The ECR is Surly's answer to those times when you just need to escape to the woods for a while to get away from the humdrum of life. Those familiar with this steel mule know it’s designed around plus tires, previously of the 29” variety. A fully loaded 29+ bike is an excellent way to explore and get away for a while… if you’re of a certain stature that is. For smaller riders, it poses several challenges though. And no one wants new problems when they’re in the woods trying to escape old ones. To solve this, Surly redesigned the smaller sizes of the ECR to work with 27.5+ while the larger sizes are still equipped with 29+. The 29+ sizes have two water bottle mounts and one set of Three-Pack bosses. This is the track bike that All-City has always dreamed of owning and they are proud to make that dream available to you. It was designed first and foremost as a true competition-ready track frame but was destined to see usage beyond the velodrome, so they made some tweaks to the equation. Instead of the track bike norm 25c max tire clearance, it fits a 32c cross tire and has a single set of water bottle mounts for all day in the saddle. The front and rear of the bike are drilled out for a brake, so single speeding (or double brake fixed) is no problem. The proprietary 612 Select double-butted cro-moly steel soaks up bumps and sprints like a champ. Each piece of tubing on every frame size has been carefully scrutinized and specifically chosen to create the best ride possible. This includes butting placement, tubing diameter and wall thickness. The package is finished off with a custom headtube badge, brazed-on seat collar, custom bottom bracket and signature Hennepin Bridge dropouts. All-City added an E.D. coating for rust prevention before applying a classic wet paint finish.
